Danish Jews to join Malmö’s Jewish community for Holocaust memorial ceremony 

20. September 2012 – Danish Jews are planning to travel to the Swedish city of Malmö on September 23rd. Malmö’s Jewish community is facing a lot of anti-Semitism and hate, historically linked together, and the Danish community is going to show their support. Read more. 


Man in Elmo costume was arrested for shouting anti-Semitic rant in the middle of Times Square

19. September 2012 – 48 year old man arrested for shouting anti-Semitic slurs on Times Square in New York. It is not the first time the man got detained. In June he was already removed from Central Park in an ambulance. Read more.


Anti-Semitism on the rise again in Europe

19. September 2012 – Anti-Semitic sentiments on the rise in Europe. The situation seems to be worse in Eastern European countries like Hungary, Poland and the Ukraine. Read more.


Grenade thrown into suburban Paris‘ kosher market 

19. September 2012 – A kosher store in Paris’ suburb of Sarcelles was damaged by a grenade. One shopper was injured.  Sarcelles is known for having a large Jewish community, mostly immigrants from Northern Africa. Read more. 


German foundation cancelled plan to show “The Innocence of Muslims” excerpts 

19. September 2012 – The German “Cinema for Peace” Foundation has cancelled its plan of showing parts of the controversial movie. Originally “Cinema for Peace” wanted to show excerpts of the movies, among others, in context of a debate on free speech and films on October 1st. Read more.
