Oxford Students Vote Against Israel Boycott

The Oxford University's student union has rejected a motion to impose a ban on Israeli products and companies.

According to several media outlets, the students rejected the motion with a majority vote of 69 against, 10 in favor and 15 abstaining.

Sharp Rise in Belgian Antisemitism

A Belgian government agency has confirmed that complaints of anti-Semitic abuse and violence rose by 30% in 2012, with 88 documented complaints compared to 62 in the previous year.

The cases included 11 incidents of vandalism, 15 verbal assaults, 13 Holocaust denials and 28 online attacks, and because many victims do not complain, the actual number of incidents may be far higher.

Sketch at Oscars Causes Anger for Reinforcing Antisemitic Stereotypes

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) on Monday derided as “offensive and not remotely funny” an Oscars sketch featuring Seth MacFarlane’s character “Ted,” in which the animated bear tells actor Mark Wahlberg that if “you want to work in this town” you have to be Jewish. 

 The League said it was "sad and disheartening” that the awards show sought to use age-old, anti-Jewish stereotypes for laughs."

Enternainer's Poster Featuring Intertwined Swastika and Star of David Angers Jews in Greece

ATHENS, Greece (JTA) -- Greek Jews want posters featuring a symbol of an intertwined swastika and Star of David to promote a nightclub entertainer's shows to be taken down.

The Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece has complained to authorities in Athens about the posters advertising a series of shows by singer and comedian Tsimis Panousis at a club in the port city of Piraeus, near Athens. The posters have been plastered across Athens and on major boulevards in the city.

Dispute over the Jewish books and documents claimed by the Chabad-Lubavitch group adds to tensions between Moscow and Washington, which have seen ties deteriorate over human rights and security issues since Putin's return to the Kremlin in May.

"The Schneerson Collection belongs to Russia," Putin said in a grand new Jewish museum in Moscow, in referring to texts held in Russian libraries and archives, some of them confiscated by the Soviet Union from Nazi forces during World War Two.

British Columbia Retiree Hunts for Hate Mongers on Craigslist

For more than a year, a retiree from Delta, B.C., has been leading a one-man crusade against offensive and racist comments he says he has found on the website Craigslist.

Cran Campbell, 64, has been flagging postings under a heading called rants and raves in the personals section of the company’s Vancouver site and calling on police, human-rights tribunals and politicians across Canada to take action.

Germany Delays Restitution for Holocaust Survivors

Israel Urges International Action Over Attacks on Tunisia's Jewish Community

Historic Warsaw Ghetto Building May Be Torn Down
