European countries are continuing to promote legislation against circumcision:
Norway will advance a law to "regulate ritual circumcision," the
Scandinavian country's Health Minister Bent Hoie said following a call
by Norway Children’s Ombudswoman Anne Lindboe to ban non-medical
circumcision of minors, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) reports.
The country's Jewish community is outraged by the announcement,
and the European Jewish Association's general director sought the help
of the Israeli government on Wednesday.
